If my plants could speak, they’d say,
“Carry on, soldier, just keep carrying on.
The sun’s out and it will touch your skin another day.
Today doesn’t have to be the best,
just one you can get through,
because in the long run, these in-betweens
would be remembered
as those sweet moments you chose to wait
for the sun to work its magic on your skin
so that you can grow tall and yonder,
and bathe and bask
once you decide
to let the light in again.”
